Hey there,
Jenn Dize here. I know all too well as someone who’s consulted for and done marketing for businesses all over the world for 15+ years and journalism for 7+ years that you aren’t really supposed to show personal vulnerability.
But I’m well past caring about that - about the rules of conducting oneself in the midst of a crisis - right now.
I desperately need your help.
I am, unfortunately, not able to pay rent, and payments for much-needed tools for Courage News (hosting, etc.) are bouncing because I don’t have money, any at all, right now.
I’m in desperate need to save money to relocate for my children, who are my entire world.
I’m consistently reporting and working day and night to build Courage News despite having no funding.
Journalism matters to me. And I’m very good at it. It’s my calling.
As co-founder of the very successful Status Coup, it is striking how much more difficult it is to build an independent journalism company without funding, which we were fortunate to have for SC.
And I’m never willing to sell out, to sell out what good, independent journalism for everyday people should be. It’s not in me.
I’m also not here to whine. I’m here doing what I have to do in a world that wants to beat us all down.
I do what I do because many, many people are in the same boat I’m in and that has to stop. Income inequality is more severe than ever before.
Can You Donate to Support Courage News and So I Can Cover Basic Living Costs to Make it Grow?
If you can, go to CourageNews.com, and you’ll find a donation link.
Alternately, you can support via http://GoFundMe.com/couragenews, http://PayPal.me/content https://cash.app/$JennCourageNews
Absolutely every amount helps. And I appreciate you more than you can know.
Can You Subscribe to Courage News’ Substack to receive perks and help it grow?
A great way you can support this independent news effort, and my ability to be able to do it, is by subscribing for $5/month to the Courage News Substack (less, with the launch discount) as a subsisting member - you’ll get behind-the-scenes perks and video/written diaries & AMAs from me too!
There are also yearly and founding member subscriptions available.
I Will Work For You
I don’t lead with this for my journalism efforts, of course, but I have even more experience with marketing, social media, copywriting, and business consulting than I do with news reporting. (you can see my LinkedIn for many reviews and recommendations on my skills with this).
I’m quite good at it :-)
I have also ghostwritten several fiction and non-fiction books.
The point is that I will freelance for you. Are you a business owner? Do you have a project you think I can help with? Do you know someone who does?
I have an entire tool chest of skills, am smart, self-driven, fast, and deliver results.
Write me to discuss work I can do for you:

Do you know of a job I may be a fit for?
So you know, I’m actively applying for jobs - journalism and otherwise. I am not going down with the ship of a hope and a dream in lieu of doing absolutely everything I can do to earn money. For myself for basic living and for my beautiful children.
Do you know of a job I may be a fit for? Can you recommend me for one?
I have experience in:
Marketing
Internet Marketing
Affiliate marketing
Social media marketing
Copywriting (very high conversions on my work)
Ghostwriting
Owning and operating a small business
Pay-per-click advertising
Fiction & non-fiction writing and publishing (including a lot of success in years past with self-publishing/helping others do so)
Teaching (I have a now-expired K-8 teaching cert. and taught first grade)
Journalism (I am a great journalist - this I know)
Research (I am the best researcher/investigator I know - I pride myself on this)
Political campaigns (I was on the writing team for Brand New Congress and Justice Democrats before co-founding Status Coup), including having written campaign donation emails, etc., for Rep. Cori Bush, as one example.
BA in psychology
I am open to any/all ideas and opportunities.
About Me, Jenn Dize
I’m smart, driven, and caring/empathetic (to a fault). I’ve successfully run my own businesses since I was 21 years old (I’m 37 now).
I’m a mom of two boys who are my entire world. I would do anything for them, and my heart breaks.
I’ve had a hard life in a lot of ways. I’ve been through things people shouldn’t have to go through. But that’s what makes me who I am and what brought me here to this life I have now - and so I wouldn’t change a thing. No looking back - just looking forward.
Importantly, my life experience allows me, as a journalist, to better understand and empathize with what is going on in the world right now.
Ideas?
Write me if you have any thoughts/ideas. I appreciate every single one of you on this list, and I appreciate your support in any way you can give it.
Solidarity Forever,
Jenn Dize
