CW: Transphobia, Murder Threats, Racism, Extreme Wealth, Sexual Assault of Cadavers, Rape Apologia - The Problem with Jessica Pin, MediClit Pt. 1
Jessica Pin's trauma is traumatizing others
*Note: This is Part 1 of 2, and I will be coming out with a heavily reported piece - this is just a breakdown of my viral thread on Jessica Pin and her transphobia, murder threats toward OB/GYNs, racism, wealth and privilege leveraging, downplaying of the Holocaust, and - you saw that right - sexual assault of cadavers.
Support my reporting and efforts so I can keep going on this story:
The other day, Jessica Pin – a generationally wealthy woman in her mid-30s with zero medical credentials, a B.S. degree, and no profession - lit the Internet on fire with this post where she takes issue with an art project of plaster casts featuring both natal and surgical vulvas:
She doesn’t like that trans vulvas were included and emphatically states that she “can tell with 100% accuracy” the difference between surgical and natal vulvas, despite the protestations of women in the comments (including OB/GYNs). People – including myself – pointed out that some of the vulvas she did not circle resembled their own natal vulvas…and why does it matter anyway in a vulvar diversity art project? Pin powered through, insisting on her correctness. Pin even told popular porn star Electra Rayne that she didn’t know her own vulva and DMd her to spread her legs to take another picture to send to Pin. Later, she shared a porn link of Electra’s with a minor child in further efforts to prove her point.
Jessica Pin claims not to be transphobic, but her posting history suggests otherwise, including saying, “I am beginning to think most trans people are just crazy.” In anger, she threatens to make videos to teach the difference to men so they can avoid trans women.
Who is Jessica Pin and Why is She The Main Character on the Internet Right Now?
Pin is, again, a generationally wealthy woman in her mid-30s who does not have a profession and has zero medical credentials. Through her wealth and her father Paul Pin’s position as Chief of Plastic Surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, she headed a study dissecting the clitorises of cadavers in an effort to improve understanding about clitoral anatomy. It sounds like an admirable goal – until you keep digging. Keep reading because you’re in for a wild ride. But do protect yourself because what’s to come can be triggering in multiple ways.
Jessica’s Own Trauma
A *very* important part of this story is that Jessica Pin is seemingly a very traumatized person. The details are fuzzy and inconsistent, but she has repeatedly and on multiple platforms told her story of feeling like her labia minora were too large as a teenager. She states she did some research on the web and that multiple doctors told her hers was too large. She states she did not have discomfort but (again, fuzzy details) may have told her parents and doctors she was experiencing discomfort in order to get the surgery as a teen.
This surgeon was chosen by her father and it did not go well (she says her surgeon later became president of @TexMed). He essentially removed her labia minora and, allegedly, overstepped the bounds of the surgery in a way that left her with no clitoral sensation. She has stated she cannot sue and that she would not win with the way the laws are written.
It is *AWFUL* that this happened to her as a teenager. She appears to feel mutilated. I think we can all rally around in support of what happened to her at the hands of her parents and the referred surgeon who did this to a teenager. I cannot, as a parent, imagine allowing this to happen to my child. However, this apparent trauma is being weaponized by Jessica to harm others.
The Study
Jessica Pin has made it her mission to get a better understanding of female anatomy, including the actual anatomy of the clitoris, into textbooks and in front of doctors. She’s been so interested in this that she enlisted the help of her plastic surgeon father to start a medical study to dissect the clitorises of fresh cadavers. She’s been relatively successful, having landed an interview on The Daily Show and being featured in The New York Times.
CW: This section is very triggering
To commence the study, Jessica Pin had her father, Paul, ask the head of plastics at UTSW for funding, which they agreed to. However, Jessica states, “our study got derailed because an OB/GYN complained about me being in the cadaver lab without proper permissions (an accident).” Again, Jessica has no medical training at all. She goes on to say, “After an OB/GYN prevented us from doing our study at UTSW…my dad bought our cadavers, and we dissected them. @ bwshealth paid us back.”
This alone is eyebrow-raising, and I’ve reached out to people and orgs for additional information for the reported story.
What comes next is … beyond. Jessica Pin tweeted of her conduct during the study (which again used fresh female donor cadavers), “I tried to finger one of our cadavers when no one was looking to figure out if it could be the clitoral body.” She followed with a “shushing” emoji. In another tweet, she said, “With the first cadaver, I tried to stick my fingers in her vagina in order to assess relative location of clitoral body, but then it got too awk bc my dad was there, so I did not try again.” She followed with a “hands over eyes” emoji.
She admits this was not part of the study, tweeting she, “did not want to do that in front of my dad when it was not part of our study.” Additionally, of saying she “fingered” the vagina of a cadaver, she said, “I thought it was funny at the time.”
In addition to having violated the vagina of a cadaver on top of not having medical credentials, Pin believes she “never owed anyone” the necessary background to perform dissections on cadavers. She believes this due to, in her words, being a victim of female genital mutilation. She also believes that she “knows anatomy better than anyone else.”
Threatening to Murder OB/GYNs
It is not just words Jessica Pin harms people with – she has made actual death threats against OB/GYNs who don’t want to work with her.
This post is now too long for an email in Substack (the site gives the writer a warning when the limit is reached), and I know it’s a lot of information, so I’ll be doing a Part 2 tomorrow to cover more (racism, rape apologia, underplaying of the Holocaust, more). Here’s my original thread - please share it! Please consider subscribing to this Substack as I am fully independent and rely on reader support for my reporting.
Are you an expert on the use of cadavers for medical study or anything to do with this story? Have you been harassed by Jessica Pin? Have I missed anything here or in my Twitter thread? Please email me jenn@couragenews.com
This story is important because she’s been given national platforms and harms trans people, has extreme wealth and privilege, does not see anything she did as wrong, and has actively threatened to murder people doing good work, like Dr. Jen Gunter, spreads racism and rape apologia around, and more. Additionally and personally, my grandmother donated her body to science. She was essentially my mother, and I won’t stand for the way Jessica Pin has used her privilege to treat people who donated their BODIES for important causes and research. She is a danger in more than one way.
More coming!

Great journalism. This story further supports my theory that we are all, in some way, traumatized, and that our traumas will negatively guide our behavior until they are properly dealt wit. Good work!
