The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Court Judge Lisa Godbey Wood.
Earlier this year, McMichael had already been sentenced to life without parole in Georgia state court.
Judge Godbey Wood said, "It's not lost on the court that it was the kind of trial that Ahmaud Arbery did not receive before he was shot and killed."
This statement came after noting her belief that McMichael received a fair trial.
This sentencing comes more than two years after Travis McMichael, Greg McMichael, and William "Roddie" Bryan chased Arbery in a pickup truck, armed with guns, for "suspecting Arbery was a burglar."
An investigation, in fact, found that Arbery was unarmed and had not committed any crimes.
Travis and Greg McMichael and Roddie Bryan were not arrested for the murder until a graphic video of the shooting was leaked online.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation then pulled the case from local police.
