This follows a month in pediatric intensive care. Cooper will now undergo physical therapy, occupational therapy, mental health treatment, and other rehab services.
Anthony Loizzi, family spokesperson, says the goal is for him to "[reach] his maximum potential moving forward."
Cooper reportedly loves his dog, George, and is now able to visit with him. He's also able to eat solid food.
The boy's mother, Keely Roberts, said:
“Cooper was shot in the back and the bullet exited his chest, which did significant damage throughout his body, including to his aorta, liver, esophagus, and spinal cord." Cooper's mom continued, saying: "Please keep following along and praying for Cooper and for Luke [Cooper's twin]. They are good, sweet boys who love everyone and want good for everyone they know. They believe in the best in people and in the world. Their lives are so much more and better than this terrible thing that was done to them. Their lives are not a tragedy, they are a triumph."
This news came just ahead of the shooter, Robert Crimo III, pleading not guilty on all counts (Aug. 3, 2022).
Crimo (allegedly) murdered 7 people and injured more than 30.
Let's all send the very best to Cooper and his family.
